RPM partners with LATC to offer career opportunities in Precision Machining

Rapid Precision Manufacturing, Inc. (RPM) of Britton, SD is delighted to highlight our partnership with Lake Area Technical College (LATC) in Watertown on a program that provides local students with the opportunity to start their careers in manufacturing. The goal of this program is to offer advanced education and future career opportunities in precision machining through South Dakota’s ‘Build Dakota’ program.

The program pays all tuition for a 2-year degree in precision machining and provides a machinist employment opportunity at RPM upon graduation. It also provides internship opportunities for the students during their school breaks.

A 2023 graduate of Britton-Hecla High School is currently enrolled in the program and works part time at RPM while attending LATC. Several of our current employees are also alumni of this program, including a 2020 graduate of Rosholt High School who graduated from LATC in 2022, and a 2021 graduate of Aberdeen Central High School who graduated from the LATC program in 2023. RPM is proud to host this program in partnership with LATC and to support our local students looking to build their careers in manufacturing, as well as our communities at large.

About LATC and Build Dakota

The Build Dakota Scholarship at LATC was established in 2015 by business leaders across South Dakota in order to close the workforce gap in high-demand careers by graduating highly-skilled workers. Students awarded this scholarship commit to enrolling full-time in an LATC program as well as employment in their fields in South Dakota following graduation. The scholarship supports students who are pursuing a wide range of different careers, with the goal of improving the local industry of South Dakota.
